Writer's Block: Words to Live by

Always the rebel, never limited by one... yes, they are all favorites!

"My fault, my failure is not in the passions I have, but in my lack of control of them." -Jack Kerouac

"Humanity has advanced, when it has advanced, not because it has been sober, responsible, and cautious, but because it has been playful, rebellious, and immature." - Tom Robbins in Still Life with Woodpecker

"The difference between the right word and the almost right word, is the difference between lightning and the lightning bug." - Mark Twain

"If my life wasn't funny, it would just be true." - Carrie Fisher

This is my Christmas wish...

You all probably know by now that pookieyamamamahas been having some difficulties.  And you probably all have figured out how much I love her...

Her "homework" assignment for this weekend has been to ask for help.  She hates that.  And the more personal the request, the more she hates it.

And while this is ever so hard for her... it should be simple for you.

Would you write a post telling her why you love her?  She HAS asked for this from specific people... but I think she needs more.  She needs to see the effect she has on friends. lovers... even casual acquaintances.  She needs to see that she is loved, needed and NOT a burden (OMG!).  And feel free to pass this request along.

So this is my Christmas wish... write a small post about why you love our Pookie.  What attracted you when you first met... what keeps you hanging around.  Tag it as "pookie" so it's easy to find when she's down.  Help me show her how barren this world would be without her...

And in return, I'll post the email I'm working on in my head at this moment.  In this season of giving, take a few moments to give from your hear to to someone who has shared so much of her heart with us.

Best wishes for the holiday season... all of the holidays.  And thank you... THANK YOU.

Didn't want you guys to forget about me and this song has been on my mind....  Imagine that!

So, Steven and I ended the summer on a good note.  An intimate barbecue with pookieyamamama , barnaby_d  and sidonay , and then special surprise guest digital_trey !  Well, he wasn't a surprise to me, but it was his birthday and I invited him up without telling anyone (except Steven).  It was a great surprise - and he didn't know I did it in honor of his birthday!  Surprises all around.

So there was swimming and hot dogs and an awesome potato salad with bacon (bacon makes almost everything awesome).  And sidonay  had never seen the movie "Clue".  More fun!  Steven and I love that movie!  Cookies and ice cream and cake rounded out the day.  Cake also makes most things awesome!

Then it was sitting on the deck with sweatshirts and blankets... a little candlelight, a little starlight...

Just a perfect day.  Thanks, guys!

Today, Steven's dad comes over with all Steven's stuff to move him back home.  We go through Steven's book bag to make sure we have everything he needs for the coming year... and maybe a little more swimming... it's the last day the pool will be open...

This moment... this time... I kind of just want to freeze it.  Let's not move into autumn, then winter and just stay here in the last vestiges of summer.  This is a time of possibilities, before we get full swing into school and work ... and life.

Of course, if we freeze in this moment in time, the possibilities freeze with us... so full speed ahead...

Is there any other way to eat it?

(at least, if it isn't in soup...)

If you've ever eaten broccoli while pretending it was a tree and you were a dinosaur, repost this in your journal. Then see how many of your friends are just as awesome as you are.

Just stopping in...

Life has been coming at me full speed of late... life, job, house, home... and its all coming to a head this coming week.  I'm moving out of the house tomorrow night and the movers come Tuesday morning.  Close on the sale of the house on Wednesday, and HOPEFULLY close on the purchase of the condo on Thursday.  And then move into the condo on Friday.

And then comes the unpacking..!

Wish me luck.  My love to you all!

Just as a point of interest...

The rose petals are in the dumpster.

Steven and my career are more important than my maiden name.  I think I will remain Janet Craig.

Composerman from Manhattan spent the night and hasn't called in a week. I expected better of him, but I'm only disappointed and not crushed.

Sales and purchases proceed...  working out timings.  And sometimes, I can't breathe... but I still do.

Thinking of you...

... nuff said, other than it is really hard to take a picture of your own foot!! I'll have someone take a picture and post a better one soon!

Couldn't pass this up... Enjoy!

I found this through a share on FaceBook, and am now in love with this man, or at least his writing. With all that's going on, I still don't cry - but this brought me to tears...
